The God who keeps His Promises…

Recently, I watched a movie titled: “The Case For Christ” and I heard a phrase that is now stuck in my head. It simply states: “In His time and in His way, God always keeps His promises.”

This is so true about our God! He is the promise maker, but most importantly, He is the promise keeper! He never breaks a promise, He is ever faithful to fulfil His own end of the bargain. Amazingly enough, even when as humans, we fall short of what is expected of us, God doesn’t use that as a yardstick to renege on His promises.

I have seen God fulfil His Word in my life and even sometimes, I marvel at His works. How He orchestrates things, situations and circumstances using people to bring His Word to pass.

He fulfils His promises in His own time and not ours. But of course, being the impatient and short-sighted humans that we are, we become frustrated when we feel He is taking too long to bring to manifestation all those promises. We forget that as God, He knows absolutely what He is doing. Also, that there is purpose meant to be achieved even in that period of waiting.

Another mistake we make is trying to help God keep His promise. He does things His own way, which is a far cry from our own ways. We scheme and plan, in the hopes of achieving our goals and dreams, as well as seeing the desires of our hearts granted. But if only we could leave things to God, trusting His way, method and approach, which will evidently be meticulous,  thorough and easy.  Oh, how easy God does things sometimes! It might just take a phone call, a visit from an old friend, receiving an email (my personal favourite) or being introduced to someone, and just like that, our lives will take on a new turn for the best!

This God of ours is terrible in majesty and my prayer is that even as we continue to wait for the manifestations of His promises, we wait with utmost gratitude in our hearts, thanking Him for what He did in the past, what He is currently doing in the present and the wonderful future which He has prepared for us!

Isaiah 64: 4 – No eyes have seen, no ears have heard, a God like You, who works for those who wait for HIM!

May we wait in gratitude while He does the work…
