I’m excited to use WordPress! It has come about out of necessity; I need to know how this Content Management System works! WordPress is the go-to place for CMS, so I thought in trying it out, might as well post a bible scripture I have been meditating on for a few days now. Here goes…

My favourite scripture used to be Romans 8 verse 28 – talking about all things working for good, however, I was listening to my pastor preach the other day and he used Ephesians 3 verse 19. I haven’t stopped reading it over and over again! Here is the Message bible’s translation which includes verse 18:

‘And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.”

I have always known about the love of God for everyone – He sent His son to die for us anyway, but I think experiencing it is very personal. I am at a point where I just want to delve into His love! Experience the breadth! Plumb the depths! This certainly requires creating and spending time with Him to develop the relationship; I mean you create and spend time with the one you love! And loving God is just everything, making Him the centre of my existence. There are countless benefits to this, here are a few;
  • Relationship with others improves when  you have a relationship with Jesus
  • It becomes easy to love others when you love Jesus; I think you are better placed to make allowances for people’s imperfections knowing that God loves you with your own imperfections
  • Joy, peace, happiness, fulfilled expectations and promises are also  by-products of genuinely experiencing God’s love
I am also deliberate in my desire to experience God’s love. I am careful not to seek Him because I want things from Him (which I sometimes do) but most importantly because He first loved me and I just want to love Him too.
I hope this scripture blesses someone the same way it has blessed and still blessing me.
Here is a song by Israel Houghton ‘First Loved Me’, it sort of buttresses my point. First Loved Me
Jesus loves you, and loving Him back is only right…
